Multiple Teams · Chris Jefferson Named OCHS Head Girls Basketball Coach

We are excited to announce the hiring of our Head Girls Basketball Coach position. Please welcome Chris Jefferson to the OCHS Family! Coach Jefferson has accepted the position and will become the Head Coach of the OCHS Lady Colonels Basketball program.

Our hiring committee screened all applicants and conducted interviews. Coach Jefferson’s qualities as a person and coach stood out above the rest and we believe he has what it takes to lead our girl’s program to the next level.

Coach Jefferson has most recently been the Head Coach at Holy Cross in Louisville. He comes to us with 18-years coaching experience at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. He has experience in building and organizing youth/middle school programs to teach fundamentals at an early age. He has worked as an assistant coach at South Oldham High School and head coach at South Oldham Middle School. He was an assistant coach at Butler High School prior to taking a head coaching position, Coach Jefferson was instrumental in developing the players that have won two state championships in the past three years. Coach Jefferson is skilled at developing lasting relationships with his players and teaching more than just the game of basketball.

Coach Jefferson will be working at Oldham County High School as our In-School Suspension Teacher. We are excited to have him in that roll and feel that having him in the building is beneficial for our student-athletes and the overall growth of the program.

From Coach Jefferson, “I feel privileged and humbled to be named the head coach of the Oldham County Lady Colonels basketball team. I look forward to getting to know the players and working towards developing a team that can compete yearly at the regional level”
