Colonels News · Manning & Landers Honored During OC v NOHS Game.

Prior to the Start of the last regular season game between Oldham County and North Oldham the Oldham County Hall of Fame recognized 2020 Hall of Fame Inductees, Todd Manning and Kris Landers.

Todd Manning graduated from Oldham County High School in 1986 where he played football and ran track all four years as a Colonel. While at OC, Todd was also a standout student, an active member of FCA, the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and was student Vice President and treasurer. Todd was a member of the 1984 Football team that finished the season 12 and 1 and advanced to the state semi-final game. He was a standout wide receiver, but in his senior year, Todd was named to the All-State football team at defensive back. Todd says he is most proud of the teamwork and commitment of the 1984 team and how hard they worked for a common goal of playing for a state title, it was truly “we before me”. Following graduation, Todd was accepted to the United States Airforce where he served until this past summer. “Todd started as a proud Oldham County Colonel and retired as a US Air Force Colonel after 30+ years in uniform. He now lives with his wife and 3 younger children down the road in Nashville and still flies as a commercial pilot.

Kris Landers graduated OCHS in 1992 and went on to work at the Oldham County Board of Education for 30 years. Kris was an integral figure on the sidelines for our Football and Basketball teams for four decades and could remember every game and every player to wear the Blue and White. He loved being with the coaches and teams, even giving a motivational speech from time to time. His impact reached beyond the sidelines as he worked with the LaGrange Fire Department and the Crusade for Children campaign in Oldham County from the time he was 8 years old and spent over 40 years helping at every opportunity. In 2013, was the Grand Marshal of the Oldham County Day Parade. Currently, the Landers Committee is being formed to help remember and honor Kris for generations to come and plans are being made to name the football stadium in his name and to provide a yearly scholarship to a deserving Oldham County High School student.

Congratulation Todd and Kris! The Oldham County Hall of Fame is proud to include you both.
